Yesterday was, of course, the Budget. Lots has been said about it both good and bad. Beyond the tax changes I was particularly pleased to see the increases in tax credits for the low paid families in
areas like mine, and for pensioners whose tax allowances will rise. I was surprised at the personal attacks on Gordon Brown from David Cameron and George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor - perhaps the
nasty party is back?
