Swanage Veterans' Festival
I was
privileged today to be asked to present Veterans Medals to former
members of the armed forces at the Swanage Veterans' Festival
weekend.
The Royal British Legion organise the weekend to celebrate the
commitment of veterans from all conflicts, past and present.
It also highlights there on going needs and contribution as
ex-service men and women. I was pleased to see organisations
like St. Dunstan's and SSAFA present and the event also benefited
from strong support from Carnival Committee and the Town
Council.
The Legion also asked me to take the salute for the march past
with Cllr Mike Pratt, the Town Mayor. The bands were great, as
always the Legion, the military vehicles and particualrly good to
see some of the serving soldiers over from Bovington.
