The phone call from the Prime Minister comes..

At 1.50pm the call came. Much as predicted, I am delighted to say, I remain as Minister of State for Schools. The wait was tortuous but understandable given the bomb threat in London.

I am really looking forward to working with Ed Balls and must hurry off to my first meeting with him in his new role.
