Great news today in the Echo about the relief road:
The contractors are signed and work is due to start early next year. Whilst most people won't belief it until it is built the signs are all there that after decades of
campaigning the road will be a reality for Weymouth.
This weekend was the Veterans Festival in Weymouth. Sadly this year I had to slip away after the service but it is always important to me to be a part of the both the remembrance
and the celebration.
The reason for slipping away was to do some radio interviews in response to the General Teaching Council advocating an end to tests for under 16s. This seems such an extreme
position, given that exams have always been part of school, that I gave them short shrift. We have to keep schools accountable to parents.
Promoted by Ray Collins, General Secretary, the Labour Party,on behalf of the Labour Party, both at 39 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0HA.
