Monday 5th February 2007
Started the day at Weymouth College, prior to travelling up to London for a busy day in the Department. The event at the College was to speak to a group of students about the five Every Child Matters
outcomes, particularly "making an active contribution".
Yet again it made me realise what a difficult job teachers have to do. It seemed obvious to ask students to participate on such a topic! Maybe it was a Monday morning problem but it was a real
struggle to get them to want make even a negative contribution. I prooved conclusively that engaging and stimulating a group of young people is not something anyone can do without specialist
training!
