Wednesday 14th February 2007
I went on to meet trade union officials at ABRO in Bovington, they had some concerns over the future of the agency that I promsied to take up with
Government.
The day began with calls from the local media on MPs' travel expenses before I went out to meet constituents at a coffee morning in Westham, visit Julia House, the children's hospice that
serves Dorset.
I was delighted to be the cheapest MP in Dorset! The detailed breakdown of the travel claims is:
Jim Knight - £2,556
Annette Brooke - £3,631
Bob Walter - £7,066
Oliver Letwin - £4,081
Christopher Chope - £5,444
Tobias Ellwood - £3,655
John Butterfill - £4,133
Robert Syms - £4,841
Given my Tory friends' recent conversion to environmental causes it was interesting to note their car claim averaged £4,143, compared to mine at £784. I prefer to use the train and have
always thought it surprising that the only other Dorset MP I've ever seen using the service is Libdem MP Annette Brooke.
