Leeson House is very successful outdoor education in Langton Matravers, just outside Swanage.  I went over for their birthday celebration and to open their new classrooms.

This was a big achievement for Barry, the manager, and Rob, his boss.  A few years ago I was receiving petitions from them as the centre was threatened with closure by Dorset County Council.  Now they are in such a strong position that the Council has invested in these much needed new classrooms.

The education at the centre is a great example of Learning Outside the Classroom - one of my priorities as a minister.  Children of all abilities come to the centre and are engaged in a new way in their learning across the whole curriculum.  Plus they have the learning experience of being away from home.  Great Value!
